Jim and Erika were married on one of the rainiest days of the summer… And as many of you can attest: that is saying something this summer.
But that didn’t stop the merriment one bit!

Erika’s bouncy curls are incredible!
Gorgeous!
Erika’s colors of vibrant orange and pink was cheery and bright!
The guests made their way bravely to the ceremony site… huddled under umbrellas and hoods in the pouring rain.Oh I just love Jim’s expression as he sees his bride for the first time…
Erika and Jim’s sweet doggies were the ring bearers…
During the ceremony several of the Erika & Jim’s favorite songs were read, since they felt that the songs said their thoughts best.
After the officiate said: “You may kiss the bride!”, Erika tossed her umbrella into the air and then threw herself into Jim’s arms for their first kiss.
The reception was held under a few tents… just enough to keep the rain off.
One guest told me later that while the rain made them chilly and wet, they really had the wonderful time… owing to the fact that all of the guests were going through the chill and rain together and it brought them a sense of unity. Memories were made huddled under that tent.
Erika’s decor was rustic and sweet.
Gourmet pizza and my new favorite, Alaskan blueberry spring salad were on the menu.
Erika’s sister and brothers accompanied the first dance with a really lively bluegrass song. This was not a slowdancing moment for these two! You can see how much fun they had!
The evening continued with heartfelt toasts, dancing and delicious mini cakes.
This awesome band, H3 out of Anchorage, got everyone on the dance floor!
Congratulations to Erika and Jim! 🙂
