Nick & Katrina Cooley
A St. Patricks day Scottish Wedding complete with handfasting and kilts… what could be more fun? Lets throw in the emerging Corona Virus for some spice!
When driving up Katrina’s Dad’s house (where the wedding was held) we met our first guest in the back yard: A mama moose, napping through a winter storm. She hung around all day, occasionally getting up to snack on some branches, but then going back to take a nice nap.
How gorgeous are Katrina’s flowers! They coordinate so well with her Family’s Tartan themed Toms…
Stunning!
Despite the snow, we were still able to sneak in a tiny bit of the view!
I love her hairpiece…
Those dimples are the sweetest thing!
Nick chose to don Katrina’s family Tartain… which is something that I love. He was looking really handsome!
We used the sunroom for their first glimpse.
I love the lacing on her gown! 🙂
Three adorable youngsters were inside, getting ready for Katrina to become their official new mama. Nick’s oldest was feeling very GQ, with his wedding suit. This is his “Dapper Dan” pose. Pretty cute!
This one is such a Norman Rockwell type photo. So much personality!
Not many are as lucky as Katrina! She had a moose photobomb the bride and bridesmaid photos!
Surrounding themselves with family.
A quick toast to each other… and then it was time for ceremony.
She was getting into those flowers! Reverend Cian Colm Mulhern of Celtic Ministries performed the ceremony.
I think Nick was very happy to see his lady!
I love this: Nick’s mom and step mom comforted each other during the ceremony.
They did a traditional Irish Handfasting Ceremony, and then sealed it with a kiss.
And then they were Mr and Mrs!
The delicious food was made by Piccolinos Catering! So yummy!
She loved being downstairs as the petals were thrown on her!
The Corona Virus hadn’t quite put Alaska at a standstill… but it was coming. We did a quick photo as a nod to the time and changes that were headed our way. Alaska’s Hunker Down mandate started just 2 weeks later.
And then the blizzard began in full force.
By then Little Man was so tired, he fell asleep while standing. Nick scooped him up and rocked him to sleep. So sweet.
The toasts were so heartfelt! I love weddings with such small groups! Everyone loves each other.
She caught the flowers!
What a unique cake! The hand piped flower details were so neat!
Those lashes!
So appropriate… the first dance included one of their children. She was enjoyed and adored the whole time.
The Father Daughter Dance.
The Mother Son Dance just about had everyone in tears. What a moment!
You can really tell that the kids are just loved by all!
Her safe place:
Katrina took a quick moment to jump on her mom and dad’s bed… and say goodbye to the dogs from her childhood.
A bubble exit!
Ending with Katrina giving Nick a piggy back ride…
…out into the snow!
These two are going to have so much fun together.
I love this.
Katrina and Nick, thanks so much for including us in your day.
