Sharifa and Aaron Hay
This couple is one of a kind! Every time I met with them our visit was accompanied with side splitting laughter and so much fun! So I looked forward to their wedding day and knew that it would match! We had so much fun!
The bride laughed through her wedding day and didn’t let a thing stress her out… the groom was pampered from the first moment. His Groomspeople took care of his every wish, and then some.
I love those windows at the Denaina Center.
We always do a sweet smile photo with each wedding attendant… and then take a moment to play! it is always fun to see what people come up with.
For this crew I ended up giving some of the grooomspeople nicknames… see if you can guess who “Freakishly Tall”, “Bearded Yacks-Man” and “Tiny Groomswoman” are?
When we went on over to where the girls were getting ready, they had everything they needed to make the morning great. Coffee, libations, pretty details and absolutely GORGEOUS shoes…. Oooh LALA. Love those shoes.
Ok, so I have photographed weddings about every weekend for 15 years… but this was my first broom jumping wedding! I was so excited! (Broom Jumping is a fun wedding tradition, look it up!) Sharifa’s sister decorated their broom with gems and flowers! It was gorgeous!
This Bride did her own makeup like a BOSS!
And she did it while wearing a TEAM BACON shirt.
All done and ALL GORGEOUS!
I love that smile!
When Aaron was asked which of Sharifa’s awesome features he loved the most… he said… her cute little nose! I totally agree! It is so cute!
These three have been best friends for… well… forever. So it was fun that these bridesmaids were finished getting ready first and we got to do a few sweet photos of the three of them.
Before Ceremony, the guests enjoyed each other with lots of laughs.
Aaron cried when he saw his bride for the first time!
I always love to watch the flower girl and ring bearer during ceremony… these two didn’t disappoint!
I think Sharifa’s shoes lasted on her feet for all of 3 minutes of ceremony! Everyone chuckled as she slipped them off and handed them to her bridesmaid.
Just like everything else with this couple, their vows were funny and heartfelt at the same time.
After the ceremony she showed off her gorgeous ring!
Look at this beautiful combined family! So much love!
We took the couple outdoors for a few photos!
The Denaina Center put out quite the spread! Fresh spring rolls and little tasty treats… followed by a very delicious dinner! The Lobster Bisque was absolutely amazing!
Lorell from Ido Events always does such a nice job arranging everything just so. It takes so much pressure off the bride to know she is there working her magic!
Smiles and laughter filled the room!
Salmon, Beef and Buffalo Jerky and Wild Alaskan Jam were each guests treat!
Eric from Alaska Professional Entertainment led the party in some really great games…
The shoe game is always hilarious!
The toasts… tears and laughter. Sharifa had got each bridesmaid that said “No ugly crying” and they were put to good use.
A favorite moment of the toasts: Sharifa’s mamma had the mike. She shared how much she loved both of them, but Aaron needed to know that Sharifa had a whole room full of Mamas… just then the room reverberated with “mmmmm-hmmmm” from all the ladies in attendance. I loved it.
What a fun cake! Love that custom topper… Sharifa holding a light saber and Aaron holding a sword! So cute!
^Hey, there is our favorite Laurel from I-Do Events! 🙂
I am sure that everyone in the room teared up during the father daughter and mother son dances. They were so sweet.
This game that Eric from Alaska Professional Entertainment brought was super fun! The Best Man and Maid of Honor teamed up with the Bride and From to pull off the roll of toilet paper faster! The ladies owned that one!
For a fun twist on the flower toss, the bride was blindfolded, and she spun clockwise while the single ladies went around in a circle, counter clock wise…. When the music stopped, who she was facing got the flowers! It ended up being this little cutie!
Love those rings!
Eric from Alaska Professional Entertainment even got in on the Wobble! He knows all the moves!
