Kelsey and Eric
Girdwood Alaska
What a strange winter we have had! We have had no snow, and then for Kelsey and Eric’s big day… Alaska made up for all of that by showing her exceptional winter skills with a huge blizzard. It caused some pretty drastic changes in her wedding plans, but Kelsey is one of the sweetest and most charming ladies of all time. She took it like a champ! The hotel improvised and made provisions for everything they needed including different ceremony and reception sites… and it all went seamlessly. I keep trying to think of a way to say “Huston, we have a problem” but we really don’t need to! Between the Hotel Staff and Kelsey and Eric’s flexibility… lemons were turned into lemonade.
We began our coverage at the cute rental house where Eric was getting ready. There were a few items still left over from Kelsey’s bridal shower, so of course we had to play with them for a moment.
You can tell that Eric is full of personality and fun!
And the fun is shown even in his Star Wars cuff links.
Lookin’ good, Mr Huston!
It was pretty cute… this was Eric’s nephews very FIRST glimpse of snow! I am not sure he liked it… but it sure was pretty.
Mom and dad were on hand, so we took a few with them as well.
After that, we went on over to the beautiful Alyeska Hotel. Kelsey was just about finished getting ready.
I love her jewelry… its just classic!
Kelsey’s bridesmaid made sure that veil wasn’t coming off! It was pretty funny!
A beautiful and practical bride! My favorite kind! (Being prepared for the weather with boots! Cute boots! Love it!)
Lovely!
Kelsey and Eric were made for each other!
Eric came upstairs to see his beautiful bride for the first time… He was blown away by her beauty!
Oh I love this series. Every photo is better than the last.
And then Kelsey put on her beautiful fur and we went outside! Alyeska is a gorgeous place for photos in any season.
Beautiful!
At this point we were supposed to ride the tram to the top of the mountain to have the ceremony and reception… but the tram was closed. Kelsey just blew it off and we improvised at the main hotel. Way to go Kelsey!
There was plenty of snowing happening down in Girdwood as well.
And Kelsey still had her beautiful winter outdoor wedding.
First kiss! Surrounded by snow and rain!
Can you believe the hotel pulled this off? They had a total of about a half hour to move all her decorations and set them up in this empty room. It turned out better than I ever hoped!
The staff at the Seven Glaciers were stellar! Despite the changes they prepared a custom plated feast for all their guests to enjoy.
So many laughs and good times!
Plated dinners give plenty of time for detail photos of rings and each course. It is alway super fun!
And then it was time to head to the ballroom for the reception.
… and the first dance.
When Kelsey saw her cake for the first time, it was with wonder and an open mouth! It was pretty amazing with the beautiful wintery scene done in their wedding colors and matching their wedding stationary.
Toasts
When the dancing got started, everyone joined in!
What a beautiful ending to a fun day!
Kelsey and Eric, thanks so much for having us! We enjoyed every moment!
