O’Bryant wedding

The O’Bryant Wedding
Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge
Just on the edge of the seasons turning from summer to fall, Kili and Mitchell were married.  It was a drizzly morning, but one sweet guest told me later: “I prayed for sunshine, and as the ceremony started, the clouds rolled back and we felt the warmth of the sun!”
And after the summer we had, I think we can all agree that was a little miracle just for these two on their wedding day.
Every wedding takes a team of people to make happen. Here are a few of the ones that really made Kili and Mitchell’s day sparkle:

Gorgeous, lady!

What a sweet group of girls:

I wish all family formal photos were this fun!

Kili and her crazy brothers are a good match for Mitchell and his sisters that insist on recreating this “lifting pose” at all of his life’s milestone moments.

The ceremony was held under the Pavilion at the Lodge. I absolutely love how Kili brought her fall themes into the look of the day.

Before the ceremony, the officiate showed me the book he used to marry Kili and Mitchell.  He told me that it was a family heirloom passed down from his “circuit rider preacher” great-great-great-grandpa! How cool is that!?

Its ceremony time… Kili clutches her dad’s arm while Mitchell waits in anticipation.

I love how in Alaska rules are meant to be broken. Kili just LOVES her little nephews, and really really wanted to watch them walk down the aisle. So she had them enter after she was already in front! Problem solved! They were mighty cute, so it was worth the little bit of a change.

They are married! 🙂  Mt. McKinley is back there hidden in the clouds, I promise.  (Use your imaginations guys!)

Their flowers were GORGEOUS.

And If you follow my blog, you already know how I just love anything new or unique. These brown suits certainly were a nice little custom touch.

The Junkyard dogs:

While all the guests enjoyed some really delicious appetizers and drinks, we shot a few photos of the bride and groom.

The reception was so gorgeously decorated… I love her colors!  (Oh, I said that before. But I do, I do!)

The food at the lodge was delicious as always! Those little shrimp things were amazing!

Check out these super cool custom engraved beer mugs and wine glasses:

The cake was an amazing feat of love for these two.  Kili and Mitchell make their home in Fairbanks.. so, of course,  that is where their favorite cake baker , Nancy Dobberpuhl, lives as well.  This cake had to travel nearly 300 miles to make it to the wedding. And THEN, it had to be put together by their coordinator with very complicated and detailed instructions. (I think there were 3 pages!)  (You can see one of the sheets of directions in the collage below.) The effort sure paid off because it looks gorgeous!  (And don’t you just love the personalized topper!?)

I love these delicious first dance photos in the warm glow of the sun. They show such heart.
Kili and Mitchell were ushered into their new life together with sparklers! 🙂

Congratulations Kili and Mitchell!
