Lauren & Dustin were married on the second day of the year at one of my favorite places: Our Lady of the Snows Chapel in Girdwood Alaska. Of course the day started with snow, but it ended up pouring down rain, which seems to be typical for this strange winter we had. Lauren took it in stride, with her cheerful smile and happy demeanor.
We me tup with her at the Alyeska Resort Hotel as she was about half way through her hair and makeup, so we had a little extra time to focus on making some pretty details of her wedding things.
I just love some pretty shoes! And some bunny boots! She is prepared for everything!
Lauren hd her rings there for me to photograph… and there was the dry cereal… I just couldn’t resist all those pretty colors and textures! 🙂
Two of the flower girls were there for most of the morning… and this one was truly enjoying her flower girl gift… lots and lots of pretty little rings! Here she is wearing one on almost every finger!
For their first glimpse, Dustin came out from behind the pillar and there she was… breathtaking!
We made our way over to the chapel… and Lauren took a quiet moment to relax and reflect. Moments like that are precious any day, but on your wedding day? It was gold.
This little flower girl is all grins as she gets ready to walk down the aisle.
The decorations were simple…This sanctuary is just doesn’t need much!
When your parents are getting married and you are the ring bearer you can pretty much get away with anything during a ceremony. What a cutie pie! Love his Chuck Taylors!
Little moments like these are why my second shooters are worth their weight in gold! I was focusing on the couple and she snagged these adorable photos of the flower girl during ceremony! Too cute!!
Married!
Making it official!
Grandpa and the little ring bearer made their way downstairs to the reception. What a sweet moment!!
Everything was ready and waiting for their guests to enjoy and have a great time!
I love that… I made sure the day was “heavily photographed” that is for sure! … just doin’ my job. Let the “mockery” begin!
It’s so true: Alcohol… because no good story started with a salad. And to prove it, the toasts were filled with great ones! (Stories! Not salads!)
And then there was the Shoe game. It was pretty funny! NewCity Entertainment rocked it out!
The backdrop of Lauren’s beautiful reception decorations was perfect for that first dance!
mmmm… cake! Even those pinecones were edible and hand made!
What a great idea! The love Ladder!
Meanwhile it was still raining… We snuck out and did some more photos anyway! It turned out great!
Boy do I love this one! Lauren’s ahhh-ma-zing dress and the rain… so pretty!
Whoa, what a veil!
Their little guy finally decided he would let them take away his fireman helmet and hold him a minute… it was a long day for him, but he ended it with smiles!
And then it was time for the getaway!
Later that week, we met up at the studio to do some outdoor photos on a day without rain. Lauren had her hair done and was looking simply stunning! Her mom helped her into her dress… what a pretty setting for it!
And then the woods! We planned our shoot right about the golden hour… so everything was bathed in that pretty yellow light from the sinking sun.
Lauren… what a pretty lady you are!
So many good memories with Lauren and Dustin…
We enjoyed every minute! (Even the rain!)
Here are a couple outtakes of my amazing second shooter, Heaven, and I working our magic! Heaven “loves” it when I make her “go stand over there….” And she caught me touching up that hair! We are a great team and I love what we make together!
