Christie and Whiz {Engagement}

I just love our backdrop of Alaska… I constantly remind my kids how lucky we are to have such fantastic beauty all around us while we do the mundane… shopping, chores… commuting… whatever.  And it is even cooler to get to go out and play with such picturesque-ness (is that even a word?) around us.

Christie and Whiz’s engagement session really shouted it out to me… I really do have the worlds best job at the best place on the planet!  We hatched our plans… and ended up shooting their engagement photos in the beautiful Seward, Alaska… some at land… some at sea… and then went fishing afterwards.  It sure was fun!  I brought along my little assistant, Gracie, to join in the adventure… and she made some pretty great photos!

The first thing you gotta know about this couple… Whiz has a huge sense of humor. He just CRACKS ME UP! A lot of people do, but Whiz… he had me rolling.  I mean, a full blown belly laugh. Not a pretty sight.

And the second thing you gotta know about them: they are totally bamboozled by each other.  Christie loves Whiz, and Whiz loves Christie. Do the math and it adds up to a wedding next summer.  Which I know will be fun!  I heard plans of a pig on a spit with Whiz cooking away in a chef’s hat (Well… I doubt he’ll wear a chefs hat. He’ll probably wear a baseball hat. but he IS cooking….) and lots of guests and fun centerpieces… I can’t wait.  Next summer seems like a long time away when you aren’t the one doing the planning for a wedding.

Christie and Whiz were in their boat… and I crossed over to their friends boat to get a couple shots of them in their natural habitat… And then we had to bring the boat up on step… and soak Christie in the process…  But really? That was Whiz’s goal the entire day anyway.  Task accomplished!

Thanks to Christie and Whiz for attempting to take us fishing… even though it was merely getting out lines wet! Gracie and I enjoyed the adventure a whole bunch! 🙂
